Photo series @elcarlosylalou // Photo shooting at the Elbe
The challenge:
When we started the shoot, it was around 12 o'clock and the sun was directly above the Elbe. So we had to deal with strong back light which was intensified by the reflection in the water. I used a polarizing filter to eliminate some of the reflections. In addition, I always placed the sun at the outermost edge or slightly outside of the image detail, so I could keep the colors and contrast of the pictures and still capture some nice flares and reflections. I photographed with a Nikon D850 and a Sigma Art 35mm lens and with the following settings:
- ISO: 320
- Shutter speed: 1/400 s
- Aperture: 1/10
To prevent the sky from "burning out" I underexposed Louisa and Carlos and only neutralized them by increasing the depths in the post-processing.
The Shoot
We are big fans of Louisa and Carlos and love to shoot with them. Carlos always makes you laugh and we are always sure that we will get some great photos. Although Carlos is a real "rascal" and outdoors he is especially hard to control. Nevertheless, he always manages to impress us with new poses. So that no one misses the right moments, I recommend not being too sparing with the release, especially when photographing animals. Often it is exactly that one moment, that one look, that one jump is what makes a photo stand out. So it's not surprising that after only one hour we had around 600 pictures. A small selection we would like to show you here. What do you think? How do you like the photos? We would love to read your comment.
