This care prevents the leather from drying out and maintains its supple texture. At the same time, contact with water, especially salt water, should be avoided. Direct sunlight and extreme heat should also be avoided to protect the leather from possible damage.

Precautionary measures: Despite its robustness, the Prestige collection is an example of delicate craftsmanship. Contact with rough surfaces should be avoided to prevent scratches or visual damage. Although these do not impair functionality, they can affect the flawless aesthetics of the leather.

Um unnötige Umtausche zu vermeiden, ist es wichtig, die korrekte Halsbandgröße vor deiner Bestellung genau auszumessen. Dafür bieten wir dir zwei einfache Methoden:

Methode 1 - Messen mit einem bereits passenden Halsband

Wenn du bereits ein Halsband hast, das deinem Hund gut passt, kannst du die Länge dieses Halsbands messen. Miss vom Anfang der Schnalle (dort, wo der Dorn aufliegt) bis zu dem Loch, das aktuell verwendet wird. Vergleiche diesen Wert mit den Längenangaben in unserer Größentabelle und wähle die passende Größe aus. Achte dabei darauf, dass diese Methode am besten funktioniert, wenn das neue und das alte Halsband eine ähnliche Dicke haben (siehe Erklärung unten).

Methode 2: Messen des Halsumfangs

Wenn du kein passendes Halsband zur Hand hast, kannst du den Halsumfang deines Hundes direkt messen. Nimm ein Maßband (oder einen Faden, den du anschließend mit einem Lineal misst) und lege es an der Stelle um den Hals deines Hundes an, wo das Halsband sitzen soll. Das Maßband sollte eng anliegen, aber nicht einschneiden. Vergleiche diesen Wert mit den „Geeigneter Halsumfang“-Angaben in unserer Tabelle und wähle die entsprechende Größe. Wir haben bereits 2-3 cm Spielraum für einen bequemen Sitz berücksichtigt. Falls du ein besonders lockeres Halsband bevorzugst, kannst du gedanklich noch 1-2 cm hinzufügen.

Warum unterscheiden sich Länge und Umfang? Auf den ersten Blick mag das Messen eines Halsbands einfach erscheinen, aber es gibt einen wichtigen Unterschied zwischen der gemessenen Länge eines Halsbands und dem tatsächlich resultierenden Halsumfang. Der Unterschied entsteht durch die Dicke des Halsbands. Wenn ein Halsband in flachem Zustand gemessen 40 cm lang ist, hat es nicht automatisch einen Umfang von 40 cm, wenn es getragen wird. Das liegt daran, dass die Dicke des Halsbands den Innendurchmesser des Kreises verkleinert, wenn es am Hals deines Hundes anliegt. Je dicker das Halsband, desto größer ist dieser Effekt. Ein Beispiel: Ein Halsband mit 8 mm Dicke reduziert den Innendurchmesser um diese 8 mm, was nach der Berechnung nach Pythagoras etwa 2,5 cm weniger Umfang ergibt. Daher passt unser Plain Halsband mit einer Länge von 38 cm - 44 cm nur für einen Halsumfang von 33 cm - 39 cm. Diese Differenz berücksichtigt sowohl den kleineren Innendurchmesser als auch den zusätzlichen Spielraum für den Tragekomfort.
